Composition: 0.9% benzyl alcohol (USP-grade) in sterile water
Benzyl alcohol acts as a bacteriostatic agent, inhibiting microbial growth and enabling multi-dose vial use
Filled and sealed in an ISO Class 5 cleanroom environment
Sealed with a rubber stopper for compatibility with standard syringes and reconstitution protocols
Compatible with all lyophilized peptides in our catalog
10mL multi-dose vial supplies sufficient volume for multiple peptide reconstitutions
Clean the rubber stopper of both the peptide vial and the BAC Water vial with an alcohol swab and allow to air dry for 30 seconds.
Draw the desired volume of BAC Water (typically 1–2mL) into a sterile syringe.
Insert the needle at a 45° angle through the rubber stopper of the peptide vial.
Slowly dispense the BAC Water down the side of the vial to avoid foam or degradation.
Gently swirl — do not shake — until the lyophilized powder is fully dissolved.
Store reconstituted solution at 2–8°C and use within 28 days. Label with the reconstitution date.
Each lot is tested to the following specifications:
Sterility: passes USP <71> sterility testing
Endotoxin: <0.25 EU/mL by LAL test
Benzyl alcohol content: 0.9% ± 0.1% by GC analysis
Everything you need to know about BAC Water for your research. Can't find an answer? Contact our team directly.
Sterile water (SWFI) contains no preservative and is intended for single-use reconstitution only. Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which inhibits bacterial growth and allows the vial to be punctured multiple times without contamination. For research protocols requiring repeated access to a reconstituted peptide solution, BAC Water is the preferred choice.
Our standard 10mL vial is sufficient for reconstituting multiple peptide vials. For most research protocols, 1–2mL of BAC Water per peptide vial is standard, meaning a single 10mL BAC Water vial can support 5–10 peptide reconstitutions, depending on your target concentration.
After the first puncture, store the vial at 2–8°C and use within 28 days. The benzyl alcohol preservative maintains bacteriostatic activity throughout this window under proper storage conditions. Discard if any visible particulates, cloudiness, or discoloration are observed.
No. All products sold by Clean Labs USA are strictly for laboratory and in-vitro research use only. They are not drugs, supplements, or food products and are not intended for self-administration or therapeutic use. Purchase constitutes agreement to our Research Use Only terms.
Unopened vials may be stored at room temperature (15–30°C), away from direct light and heat. After the stopper has been punctured, transfer to refrigerator storage at 2–8°C and use within 28 days. Do not freeze.
